Anyone can register you as an importer. Far fewer can get an ITAC permit for controlled goods, win a duty rebate, or release a container that customs has detained. That is the work we do — one fixed fee, agreed in writing before we start.
Certain goods, including used or second-hand items, scrap metal, and products on ITAC's controlled lists, need an import or export permit from the International Trade Administration Commission before the goods move. Permits are applied for before shipment, and you also need a valid customs client code and correct HS classification for clearance.
Governing legislation: International Trade Administration Act 71 of 2002 and the import and export control regulations issued under it.

This is the first step of your ITAC permit or cross-border trade application. No payment is needed to begin, and the eligibility check is step one inside the application.
Goods detained, held or seized at the border? Call or WhatsApp us now — these matters are handled the same day.
Registration is paperwork. ITAC permits, rebates, tariff applications and origin disputes are legal work — the wrong tariff heading or a thin motivation costs you the permit and the shipment. We build the file correctly before it is lodged, and we stay on it until a decision comes out.
Scrap metal, waste, second-hand goods, used vehicles and machinery — permits drafted, motivated and lodged.
ITAC manufacturing rebates, drawbacks and duty-relief permits that lower your landed cost.
Tariff increase and reduction applications, anti-dumping, countervailing and safeguard investigations.
Rules-of-origin opinions, preferential certificates and supplier declarations for cross-border trade.
Classification, valuation and origin rulings, penalty mitigation and voluntary disclosure.
Urgent representations to release goods stopped, detained or seized at the border or in transit.
Tell us the goods and the route. We confirm whether ITAC is involved and what applies.
One written fee before any work starts. No hourly billing.
Applications, classifications and motivations drafted and filed by us.
We answer every ITAC and customs query and escalate where the file stalls.
Every mandate is quoted upfront in writing, and complex tariff and trade remedy work is capped at R450,000 all-in. You'll never get an open-ended bill from us.
For controlled goods that need an ITAC permit before a single shipment can clear.
ITAC manufacturing rebates, duty drawbacks and duty-relief permits, prepared properly the first time.
For traders moving goods into SADC and across the continent, not just through a single port.
ITAC tariff applications, anti-dumping matters and customs disputes — quoted inside a fixed cap, never open-ended.
The entry point: getting your business registered and legally able to move goods across the border.
All-in fixed fees. Our professional work, the application drafting, all ITAC and customs statutory application fees and all dealings with the authorities until a decision are included — no disbursements and no hidden fees. Tariff, anti-dumping and customs dispute mandates are quoted after a scoping call, inside a hard cap, all-in, that you approve in writing before we start.
We separate our preparation time, which we control, from the authority's decision time, which we do not. Ranges are based on comparable files.
We cannot guarantee a government decision date. What we do guarantee is a complete file, lodged on time, with every query answered until a decision is issued.

Questions
ITAC administers import and export permits, tariff amendments, rebates and duty relief, and trade remedy investigations such as anti-dumping and safeguard duties. We prepare and lodge the applications and represent you in the process.
Permit applications are usually lodged within days of your documents being complete, while tariff amendments, rebate creations and trade remedy matters run over several months because they involve public comment and investigation.
Every mandate is quoted as a fixed fee in writing before any work starts, so you know the number before you commit.
